Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves

Welcome to Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. Once upon a time. In a distant country there lived two brothers named Ali Baba and Kasım. They came from a poor family. The two brothers made their living as woodcutters. Soon Kasım married the daughter of a rich merchant.

Ali Baba married the daughter of a poor family just like him. Every day, Ali Baba would go to the forest and take the wood to the city to sell. One day, while Ali Baba was cutting wood in the forest again, he heard the sound of a crowded group nearby. He hid in the bushes just ahead of him to see what was going on. Soon he saw people on horses coming in his direction.

The men stopped in front of the bush where Ali Baba was hiding. Ali Baba counted them one by one to see how many there were. There were exactly 40 of them. All of them had sacks full of gold in their hands. Ali Baba realized that these men were thieving thieves. The men dismounted from their horses, loaded the sacks of gold on their backs and came to the front of the cave, which was blocked by a huge rock.

The leader of the Forty Thieves opened his arms to both sides in front of the rock and called out, “Open, sesame, open”. At that moment, the giant rock in front of the cave moved to the left and the entrance of the cave opened. Forty thieves entered the cave one by one. Ali Baba was watching what was happening in the bushes with astonishment.

After a while, the forty thieves came out of the cave one by one. When the leader of the forty thieves stood in front of the giant rock again and opened his arms to both sides and called out, “Close sesame, close”, the giant rock moved and blocked the entrance to the cave.

The forty thieves rode away from there as soon as they got on their horses. When the forty thieves left, Ali Baba came out of his hiding place and came in front of the cave. Just like the leader of the forty thieves said, “Open, Sesame, open! The huge rock suddenly moved and slid sideways. Seeing the huge cave in front of him, Ali Baba hesitantly entered the cave.

He was astonished by what he saw. Because the cave was filled with all kinds of precious stones, jewelry, gold and money. Ali Baba immediately filled the gold in the empty sacks he found there and went out. He stood in front of the giant rock again and said, “Shut sesame shut” and the giant rock moved and closed the cave.

Ali Baba happily made his way home. When he came home, he dumped his sack of gold in the center of the room. His wife was surprised to see hundreds of gold coins in the room and asked, “Where did you get so much gold?” Ali Baba told his wife what had happened.

They tried to count the gold together, but there was so much gold that they could not count it. His wife said, “This is not going to work. I’d better go to Kasım’s house. He has a scale.” Ali Baba’s wife came to Kasım’s house. Opening the door, Kasım asked, “What do you want?” “If you have a scale, can you lend it to me?” the woman said. “What do you need a scale for?” the man asked. “We are going to weigh the pulses in the house,” she said. Suspicious of this, Kassim gave the scale to the woman and then secretly followed her.

Kassim peeked into the house through the window and was surprised to see Ali Baba and his wife weighing hundreds of gold coins and putting them in sacks. The next day, Kassim came to Ali Baba’s house as if he had no idea and said, “Brother, I have not been able to visit you for a long time. I have heard something. There are people looking for you everywhere. If you tell me what happened, I can help you.”

Ali Baba, who was pure and kind-hearted, told what had happened to him one by one in the face of this cunning idea of Kasım. Then Kasım said, “If you don’t take me to that cave, I will tell the Forty Thieves about you.”

Ali Baba, frightened by his brother’s threat, took his brother Kasım to the cave the next morning. Ali Baba, fearing that the forty thieves would come at any moment, said, “We must leave immediately. If the forty thieves see us here, it will not be good.

Kasım had no intention of going. So Ali Baba said, “I’m leaving. Do whatever you want.” When Ali Baba left, Kasım stood in front of the giant rock. “Open, Sesame, open!” he called out. When the giant rock moved, the entrance of the cave appeared. Kasım, who went inside with excitement, was surprised by what he saw.

He immediately started collecting gold in the empty sacks he found. Just as he was about to go out, he saw the Forty Thieves.

He saw forty thieves in front of him. The forty thieves immediately captured Kasım and exiled him to a faraway land that no one knew about. When Kasım did not come home that evening, his wife went to Ali Baba’s house out of curiosity. Ali Baba immediately went to the cave, but when he saw that his brother was not there, he realized that the forty thieves had captured his brother and punished him.

A long time passed. Ali Baba continued to go to the cave from time to time and collect the gold. The forty thieves realized that the gold in the cave was constantly decreasing. After a while, Ali Baba and his wife took his brother’s wife with them and expanded the business they had inherited from their brother. They were living in abundance and prosperity.

Forty thieves were searching around to find out who took the gold from the cave. Finally, they determined that Ali Baba was the one who took the gold. One day the leader of the Forty Thieves disguised himself and started to follow Ali Baba in the bazaar. He followed Ali Baba to his house and found his house.

Then he made a plan and knocked on Ali Baba’s door the next evening. He told the servants who opened the door that he wanted to meet Ali Baba. Ali Baba, who came to the door, said, “Yes, sir, what did you want?” The leader of the forty thieves in disguise said, “I am a merchant in a distant country. I heard that you are the richest merchant here. I have forty jars of olives. I would like to sell them to you if you see fit.”

Ali Baba accepted this offer and hosted the leader of the thieves in his house that night. Ali Baba instructed his men to carry forty jars of olives to the warehouse of his house. In the evening Ali Baba organized a feast for his guest. Food was eaten and conversations were had. At that time, Kasım’s wife went down to the storage room to taste the olives. When she entered the warehouse, she heard voices inside the jars.

At that moment he realized that Ali Baba was being set up. He immediately went into the kitchen and boiled oil in a big cauldron. He went into the warehouse and started pouring the oil he boiled in the cauldron into the jars. The haramis, who were hurt, started to run out of the jars for their lives.

Hearing the noise, Ali Baba and his guest immediately got up and ran to the door. When the leader of the forty thieves realized that it was his men who were running away, he ran out of the house as fast as he could. Kasım’s wife told Ali Baba what had happened. The forty thieves went far away, never to return. Ali Baba, his wife and Kasım’s wife lived a lifetime of wealth and prosperity.
