The Tale of Rapunzel – Read Grimm Fairy Tales

Once upon a time, when fleas were barbers, and camels were tellers, When I was rocking my grandmother’s cradle, There was a house in a faraway land. A couple lived there. They dreamed of having a child. Then one day the woman became pregnant and craved the fruit from the garden next door.

So her husband picked some fruit from the garden next door for her. But the owner of the garden was an angry and stingy witch. She was very angry when she saw the man in her garden. Of course, the man was very scared when he saw the witch in front of him. And just as he was trying to escape, the witch called out to him.

Why are you here plucking fruit from my tree without even asking my permission?

The man replied with trembling. You are a wicked witch. I was too scared to ask your permission. And my wife is pregnant. She was craving for these fruits. The witch got even angrier at this answer.

Look, then I’ll punish you. There’s a penalty for stealing apples from me. As soon as your child is born, you will give it to me. That is the only way I will forgive you and your wife and even your child.”

The man agreed helplessly and sped away. They made a deal with the witch. Every day his wife could eat as much of the fruit as she wanted. But as soon as the child was born, they would give it to the witch.

So he continued to bring the fruit to his wife every day. Eventually she gave birth and the witch came and took the baby.

The wicked witch was very sad and burst into tears because the mother had taken her child. Many years passed.

This cute baby, whom they named Rapunzel, grew up to be a beautiful girl with golden hair. But the witch imprisoned her in a high tower so that no one could reach her.

Every day he climbed up the tower to give her food. Rapunzel was very bored alone in the tower and spent her days singing songs to the birds and butterflies.

One day the prince was hunting in the forest when he heard a beautiful voice and wanted to see the singer.

But what did he see? A beautiful girl with golden hair, locked in a tower.

He heard the witch calling him and watched them for a while.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, give me your golden hair.

Rapunzel let her long hair down from her heart and the witch climbed up, clinging to her hair. The prince was delighted and came back to Rapunzel’s tower the next evening.

Changing her voice, Rapunzel Rapunzel said, “Rapunzel Rapunzel, give me your golden hair.

Rapunzel also grew her hair long and the prince climbed up by holding on to her hair. Rapunzel was very scared and surprised when she saw the prince instead of the witch.

Because for the first time in his life he saw a human being other than a witch. What a beautiful voice you have, said the prince.

Rapunzel thanked him, timid and shy. No, no, please don’t be afraid of me, said the prince. The prince and Rapunzel fell in love at first sight. The prince and Rapunzel saw each other every day.

But one day when the witch was returning from the forest, she saw the prince coming and climbing up to Rapunzel. As soon as she saw this, she was very angry and when the prince left, she quickly climbed up to Rapunzel.

How could you let someone in here without asking my permission? He got angry, took the scissors in his hand, cut Rapunzel’s beautiful golden hair and sent Rapunzel away.

The witch wanted to punish the prince and went to the tower and waited for the prince. When the prince came, Rapunzel Rapunzel said, “Grow that golden hair. The witch cut Rapunzel’s hair down and the prince climbed up.

When the prince saw the witch instead of Rapunzel, he was very scared and wanted to run away, but the witch pushed him down. The prince fell on the witches and was blinded. After that day, he looked for Rapunzel everywhere.

He loved Rapunzel so much that he never gave up the hope of finding her. He dreamed that one day he would meet Rapunzel. A long time passed and he finally arrived where Rapunzel was and heard her beautiful voice again.

This is Rapunzel, she said, “I knew I would find him” and went towards the voice. Rapunzel was very happy to see the prince. She hugged him and cried with happiness.

Tears fell into the prince’s eyes and gradually he began to see. It was a true miracle. So they saw that everything could be solved with love. They hugged each other tightly.

Together they went to the prince’s palace. And they lived happily ever after.
